In Celebration of the Lioness
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvette F. Kirschner, who was born on July 25, 1945, in Kensington, Pennsylvania.
From a very early age, Yvette was drawn to music. She played the piano by ear without formal lessons and later performed as a cellist in her high school orchestra. Her talent led her to sing on the radio in Philadelphia, including appearances on Chief Halftown during the show's heyday. Music was not simply a passion for Yvette; it was a way of life.
After attending Catholic school from preschool through college, Yvette married and began raising her family, all while continuing to pursue her love of music. Wherever life took her, she could often be found playing the organ and singing with church choirs, as well as continuing to sing on the radio. Her deep passion for music was passed down through generations, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were all encouraged to embrace music in every form: writing, singing, and playing. Yvette believed music was a staple of life.
Though Yvette's passing is deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who knew her, we choose not to mourn her loss, but instead to celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Yvette left a piece of herself with everyone she touched. She will be remembered for her wisdom, fierce loyalty, sassy wit, strength, compassion, love, generosity, kindness, inspiration, joy, and, most of all, her unforgettable laughter. Her life reminds us that time is precious, life is short, and we must truly live, for second chances are rare.
Yvette was predeceased by her beloved children, Christopher Daniel Raske, Deanna Lynn Raske, Dawn Michelle Ferrante, and granddaughter, DeAndra Allyson Raske.
She is survived by her daughter, Taunee Tolliver; sons-in-law, Aaron Tolliver and James Ferrante; grandchildren, Nicolette, Alexandria, Chelsea, Tyler, and Aurora; and great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Jaidyn, Jonathan, Gigi, and Amelia. She is also survived by her adopted sister, Cathy Gardner; adopted nieces, Antoinette and Victoria; and many cherished adopted grandchildren too many to list, but all deeply loved.
Yvette's spirit, music, and love will continue to resonate through the many lives she touched.
