William Robert Anthony passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 5, 2025. He is survived by his wife - Beth (Dilks-Stoddart), his sisters - Terri and Kathryn, his children - Christopher (Jenn), Jennifer, Beverly, and Eric, his stepchildren - Danny (Megan) and Tara (Bobby), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother and father - Viola and Alvin Erbe, sister - Susan, and stepson - Michael (Lisa).
Bill dedicated his life to service and family. He joined the United States Navy in 1967, where he spent 20 years as a Hospital Corpsman. Bill retired a decorated veteran having received a Medal of Valor, and 5 Medals of Good Conduct. After the Navy, he was a Maintenance Supervisor for Wall Township Department of Public Works. He continued serving as the President of the Fleet Reserve in Lakehurst, NJ, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Fire Police in the Waterford Township Fire Department, a member of the Camden County Fire Police, and President of the Eastern Chapter of the Cherokee Nation.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In his younger years Bill enjoyed camping with other retired members of the United States Military. He was even able to make his way to Oklahoma for the Cherokee Nation Powwow. Later in life Bill labeled himself a swim coach and taught the kids how to swim. He enjoyed spending his time making shirts for his family and his granddaughters' softball teams on his Cricut. Bill loved to supervise and interject in any projects he had his grandsons doing. His favorite thing to do was spend his time in his mancave with his dogs watching old westerns.
He will be missed by so many from the East Coast to the West. As a Cherokee Indian, Bill believed there is no true goodbye, but donadagohvi (until we meet again).
