Wayne Vest

Wayne Vest, age 78, of Atco, NJ, passed away on July 30, 2025. He was born in Camden, NJ, to the late Leo and Eleanor Vest (née Goins).

Wayne proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968 and was a devoted American Patriot and Veteran. He went on to dedicate over 40 years of his career as a foreman with Conrail Railroad. Wayne and his beloved wife, Darlene, made Atco their home for the past 52 years where they raised their three sons and hosted endless holiday events for their seven grandchildren.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne loved hunting and spent countless cherished moments at his cabin in Potter County. In more recent years, he found joy in fishing trips on his boat and relaxing with his friends at Rack’s, fondly known to him as “The Office.” Above all, Wayne was most proud of his family. He was a devoted Father and Pop that deeply appreciated time spent with his grandchildren and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments. Wayne leaves an unfillable void and will be profoundly missed by all, including his devoted pups, Aika and Sniper.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Eleanor; and his siblings, Leo Vest (Theresa), Kathleen Finch, and Thomas Vest.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Darlene Vest (née Baxter); his devoted children, Dwayne Vest (Devon), Jason Vest, and Gregory Vest (Jillian); and his adored grandchildren, Abigayle Joan, Jacob David, Chase Joseph, Lillian Rose, Mia Elizabeth, Jaxon Douglas, and Riley Ann.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory and will be held privately.
