Virginia "Ginny" A. Pierson

Virginia "Ginny" A. Pierson, beloved mother, Gigi, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 9,2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and countless people who will miss her dearly.

Born in Tansboro, NJ, she was raised there and spent most of her adult life in Sarasota, Florida. She was a hardworking woman who devoted much of her life to caring for others. As a retired nurse, caring for people was not simply her profession, it was a part of who she was. She had a natural compassion for others and was always someone you could turn to when you needed a listening ear, a little advice, or simply someone to talk to.

As a mother, she worked hard to provide for and care for her two daughters. When she wasn't working, she loved spending time with her girls and creating memories together. Some of their most treasured memories were the days she would take them to Siesta Key Beach. Those simple days together became memories that would remain special throughout their lives.

In 2020, she moved back to New Jersey to be closer to her daughter. Being near family was important to her, and she cherished the time she was able to spend with the people she loved.

Once her grandchildren came along, she became known to the family as Gigi, a name that became a special part of who she was. She was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren-two granddaughters and two grandsons. She loved them all, but everyone knew Corey and Luke could get away with just about anything. In Gigi's eyes, her grandsons could do no wrong, and she was always their biggest supporter and fiercest defender.

She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, who brought another generation of love and joy into her life.

She had a special place in her heart for animals and spent much of her life caring for rescue dogs and cats. Two years ago, Puff came into her life and quickly became a cherished companion. She loved Puff dearly and found great comfort and joy in having her by her side. Ashley was also a deeply loved and cherished part of her life, and together with her grandson, Corey, she will continue to care for Puff with the same love Mom gave her.

She had a special appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She loved watching the birds, especially when a red-breasted robin made an appearance, and she enjoyed watching the deer in her backyard. She loved playing solitaire and settling in to watch her favorite shows and movies. Her television choices were wonderfully eclectic, she enjoyed Hudson & Rex, Hallmark movies, and, of course, The Sopranos. She could appreciate a sweet Hallmark movie just as easily as she could enjoy Tony Soprano.

She had a personality all her own, strong, outspoken, funny, and full of life. She always had something to say and was never afraid to say it, but she also had a way of making you laugh when you least expected it. Her family will miss her voice, her humor, and all the little things that made her unmistakably Mom and Gigi.

She was the kind of person who was there when you needed her. She was a good listener, and if you needed someone to talk to, you could always count on her to listen. And if what you really needed was the latest update on what was going on, she was the quintessential tea spiller. She somehow always knew what was happening and was usually more than happy to share the details.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Faircloth, Erin Wells, her son-in-law, Ed, four grandchildren, Brandy, Kayla, Luke Faircloth Corey Walter and four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brody, Skylyn and Tatum.

She will be remembered for her strength, her hardworking spirit, her caring heart, her love of animals, her wonderful sense of humor, and the love she gave so freely to her family. Her family will miss her stories, her advice, her listening ear, her laughter, and knowing that Gigi was always in their corner.

She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a love that will continue through the generations she helped shape. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
