Veena Machhar

With our hearts full of love, gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Veena Machhar, on May 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Surrounded by the love and prayers of her family, she left us peacefully and on her own terms, after having fought a long and hard battle with lung and heart disease.

Dedicated to her faith and fiercely devoted to her family, she will be remembered for so many inspiring qualities: kindness, humor, wisdom, resilience, quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely throughout her life. Even during difficult times, regardless of how she was feeling herself, she kept that sparkle in her eyes and lilt in her voice as she greeted you or asked how you were doing. She was the bright and guiding light of our family.

Survived by her beloved husband, Om Prakash Machhar, of nearly 59 years, her daughter Anita, son-in-law Ponnappa, and her two cherished grandchildren, Rohan and Dhruv, she also leaves behind close extended family and dear friends both in the U.S. and in India. We will all miss her deeply and pray that Dayalu Babji apne nij charano mein sharan pradaan kare.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, 08004. Cremation to follow.
