Thomas P. Volpe, 74, passed away after a long battle with leukemia, throat and tongue cancer on Wednesday, May 29, 2025, with the love of his life Valarie, by his side.
Tom was born, raised & resided in Philadelphia and he loved South Philly the best.
He graduated from Paul Neumann High School and Widener University with a master's degree. Tom enjoyed music, singing and playing his guitars. He was a dedicated fan of all Philadelphia Sport Teams and Nascar driver, Jeff Gordan, DuPonts # 24.
Tom was a man of many gadgets. He enjoyed his summer home at Seashore Line, playing Bocce and taking his two walks a day.
Tom was a 42-year employee for DuPont Grays Ferry as a Senior Research Technician.
Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Valarie Milva (nee Vandegrift) Volpe; his two sons, Thomas (Trish) Volpe and Michael Volpe; granddaughters, Melissa (Nate Dawson) and Alexandrea Volpe; great-grandchildren, Noah, Natino, Carlo, Vincenzo, Lucia, Kylie and Anthony; brothers-in-law, Kenny Vandegrift and Vaughn (Terri) Vandegrift; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Enest & Frances (nee Buffo) Volpe and brother, Raymond Volpe; his in-laws, Kenneth W. and Milva B. Vandegrift; and brother-in-law, Brian D. Vandegrift.
Cremation was held privately at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004.
