It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Therese H. Banks, age 70, of Sickerville, NJ, who passed away on Monday, July 13th, 2026.
Therese was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandmother (Oma) whose greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to caring for those she loved, offering unwavering support, kindness, and encouragement. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Known for her gentle spirit and compassionate heart, Therese touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and generosity. She had a beautiful love for singing and found joy in sharing music with family, friends, and those around her. Her voice and cheerful spirit brought comfort and happiness to many, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Even in death, she chose to make a lasting difference; generously donating her body to science, leaving behind a legacy that will contribute to the education of future medical professionals and the advancement of medical research.This was in honor of her goddaughter, Jaime, who is a family physician.
Therese is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Banks; her beloved children, Jessica Shropshire (Bill) and Joey Banks (Allie); her treasured grandchildren, Harper, Billy, Avery, Chloe, and Edie; siblings, Patricia Bauer and Charles Dougherty Jr, as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
All are invited to celebrate her life with a visitation at Christ the Redeemer Parish, Assumption Church, 315 Carl Hasselhan Dr. Atco, NJ, 08004 on Thursday, July 23rd from 9:30 am to 10:45 am with a eulogy at 10:45 am. Mass to follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Purple Heart Foundation in Therese Banks' name by clicking here
In honor of Therese's bright spirit, please wear something colorful such as green for her proud Irish heritage or red being her favorite color.
