Sylvia Ann Helwig

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvia Ann Helwig (nee Sherwood), age 84, of Sewell, NJ, who left this world on September 25, 2026.

Sylvia is survived by her loving children, Robin, Brian (Lori), Wendy (Tom), and Greg; her grandchildren, Erica, Brianna, Avery, Rachel, Robert, Alyssa, and Tommy; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Caroline. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, April, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Sylvia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wendell Helwig; her parents, Frazier and Ruth Sherwood; her son-in-law, Guy Mitchell; and her sister, Nancy Dinovi.

Sylvia worked for several years as a bookkeeper at Stella Farm Inc. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and treasured the time spent with the people she loved.

In her younger years, Sylvia enjoyed weekends camping with her family, water skiing, and spending long summer days at the beach. As the years went by, some of her happiest moments were spent at the beach with her grandchildren, searching for seashells and Cape May diamonds, and enjoying time together at the arcade on the Wildwood boardwalk. These simple moments became cherished memories that her grandchildren will carry with them forever.

Sylvia will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the many special memories she created throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral arrangements and cremation are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory in Atco, NJ.
