Sheila Sengupta

Sheila (Putin) Sengupta (nee Choudhuri) passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She came to this country with her husband Daya in 1971. Together, they fell in love with the city of Boston and the U.S. She worked for many years at the Steininger Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, but her true passions were singing and her friends. Sheila loved singing so much that she taught the next generation and performed whenever she could. Her greatest joy in life was sitting with her friends, talking and laughing. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Laila, her son-in-law, Eric, and grandchildren, Meera and Kiran.

Viewing and services will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, January 13th at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, 08004 with cremation to follow. Kindly note that the Sradha will be solemnized on January 21st at noon at the Indian Cultural Center.
