Ronald Bessetti

February 13, 1938 — April 29, 2025

Ronald L. Bessetti, 87, of Lindenwold, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born and raised on a farm in Wattsburg, PA, Ronald was one of ten siblings and often shared cherished stories of his childhood, including attending a one-room schoolhouse where he advanced quickly due to his intelligence - and occasionally his mischief. His tales of growing up in the country were legendary and always delivered with a twinkle in his eye.

After moving to New Jersey to be near his brother, Ronald built a life grounded in hard work, love, and laughter. He served as a Construction Code Official in Pennsville Township and later found joy as a school bus driver for Hillman's Bus Service in West Berlin, where he adored his young student riders.

Ronnie, as he was affectionately known, had a zest for life. He took pride in meticulously caring for his yard, customizing and maintaining his beloved 1978 Ford Ranchero, and feeding the deer that visited his backyard daily. A natural storyteller and jokester, he had an uncanny ability to make those around him laugh - a quality that endeared him to all who knew him.

Above all, Ronnie was a devoted family man. He met the love of his life, Sandy, while working at a gas station - their story beginning when she caught his eye as he cleaned her windshield. They were married for nearly 55 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. His daughter, Debra, was the light of his life, and he took immense pride in being her father.

He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Virginia (née Weber) Bessetti; his siblings, Richard A. Bessetti, Patricia Swaney, Pearl Kosiorek, Thomas Bessetti, and Gary Bessetti.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy (née Simmons); daughter, Debra (Jamie Otis); his siblings, Arthur Bessetti, Gordon Bessetti, Greg Bessetti and Sandra Lowes; many nieces and nephews and a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to family. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His stories, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation to celebrate Ronald's life will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:00pm to 5:45pm followed by a eulogy, at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004.
