Roderick J. Lee

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roderick J. Lee, a beloved father, husband, and friend, who passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 95. Rod was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 31, 1930, to Alice (nee Fung) and Gong Lee and spent his life making a difference in the lives of those around him.

A proud graduate of Central Boys High School, in Philadelphia, PA, Rod spent many years as a dedicated lithographer, having worked for printing companies such as W.T. Peck Offset Printing and Phototype in Pennsauken, NJ. He also contributed to the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin and Peck & Brownell Printers. Rod's commitment to lifelong learning was evident when he audited classes at Camden County College after his retirement, demonstrating his passion for knowledge and growth.

Rod was a devoted member of the Chinese Christian Church and Center in Philadelphia, PA where he found community and fellowship. His love for imparting knowledge was evident through his volunteer work at West Jersey Hospital, Echelon Mall Ministry, and Gibbsboro Library, where he inspired many. Rod also taught an adult Chinese cooking class at Voorhees Middle School, sharing his culinary talents with others.

Rod had a creative spirit, enjoying painting, designing family Christmas cards, and capturing family memories through photography. He was also an avid reader of newspapers, magazines and books and enjoyed watching DVDs and TV shows.

Married to the love of his life, Emma M. (nee Moy) Lee, for 67 years, Roderick was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Lee, with whom he shared countless cherished moments, his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, Sharon Jang, Marisa Tam, Andrew Tam, Lisa Jang and Jorge Rebagliati, Lindsey Jang and Deniz, Aydin and Ziya, Aysel, and Abby Jang and George Chang; four sisters-in-law and their spouses and 6 nephews and 5 nieces on his wife Emma's side.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Mai-Wah Jang (John) and his nephew-in-law, Dan Tam.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory and will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers donations in Rod's memory may be made to the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission School, the St. Labre Indian School, or to the Native American Veteran's Assistance.
