Dr. Richard K. Jarvis, age 72, of Mickleton, NJ, passed away on Thursday October 8, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital, Washington Twp. Son of the late Allen and Virginia (nee Slade) Jarvis. Beloved husband of Marilee Jarvis (nee Canter). Loving father of Justin (Brooke), Jessica, and the late Jason; step-father of Danielle (Jerry), Christopher (Christine), Theresa (Richard), Jennifer (Theodore), and Anthony. Proud grandfather of Gabriel, Israel, Jason, TJ, Preston, Ava, Zachary, Brendon, Nathaniel, Anthony, and Sailor. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Dorothy Canter. Richard graduated from Lenape High School in Mt. Laurel in 1966 and was the class valedictorian. He went on to get his BA from Haverford College, graduating in 1970. Richard continued his education at Rutgers University for his post graduate degree in 1972-1973. From there, Richard attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating number one in his class. Richard completed residencies in Surgical Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine. He worked as an Emergency Room Doctor at Kennedy Hospital in Washington Twp., later moving into a family practice working at UMDNJ (now Rowan). Richard had a love and gift caring for his patients. When Richard retired, he had a love for his grandchildren, reading, NY Times crossword puzzles, and the Eagles. Richard will be deeply missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Cremation will be held privately.
