In Loving Memory of Peter S. Denniston

Peter S. Denniston, age 90, of Berlin, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026.

Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Teresa, with whom he shared a wonderful life filled with love, companionship, and countless cherished memories.

He leaves behind his loving daughter, Karen; several nieces and nephews, Carolyn, Julie, Steven, John, Ruth, and Lynne; many dear friends; and his beloved canine companion, Max, whom he adored and lovingly spoiled.

Peter found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed spending time in his yard, tending to his garden, and growing beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables. He treasured the friendships he shared with his neighbors and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether someone needed assistance with a repair, help moving something, or simply a bit of advice, Peter was always there. His generosity, willingness to help others, and genuine kindness touched the lives of many.

Born in Old Kilpatrick, Scotland, Peter was the first of five children born to Peter and Jemima (Minnie). Following an apprenticeship at Denny's Shipyard, he joined the Merchant Marines, where he had the opportunity to sail around the world and experience life beyond his hometown. After leaving the Merchant Marines, Peter emigrated to the United States with his beloved wife and young daughter, where they began a new chapter and built a wonderful life together.

Peter will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his hardworking nature, his love of gardening, and, above all, his generous heart. He had a special way of making himself available to others, never hesitating to lend a hand or share what he knew. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service celebrating Peter's life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. The visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and pay their respects.

In keeping with Peter's caring and generous spirit, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, guests consider bringing nonperishable food items to the memorial service. All donations will be delivered to a local food bank in Peter's memory. In this small but meaningful way, his legacy of kindness, generosity, and compassion will continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

Peter lived a life filled with adventure, love, friendship, and kindness. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he leaves behind and the many lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
