Michael J. Kelly, Sr. age 76 of Cedar Brook, NJ passed away on October 16, 2025.
Michael Was born on May 31, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA to Raymond and Clara (nee Madden) and grew up in Bellmawr, NJ. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Kathleen (nee Pajic), his children Michael Kelly, Jr. (Kathleen), Jeanette Walden (John, Jr.) and Nicholle Gordon (Alex). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Braden, John, III, Gavin, Reagan, Avery and Emmy along with his Brother-in-law, Joseph Pajic (Kathleen) and his sisters-in-law, Carole Riley (Carl) and Patricia Kelly. He will be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, his godchildren, cousins and long time friends.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Clara and his brothers, Raymond, Richard and Philip.
Mike graduated from Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill in 1967 where he met his forever love, Kathy. They played in the band together as good friends. After high school their friendship grew into an everlasting love. They married in 1970, and built their forever home in Cedar Brook where they raised their family, and resided for 55 years. Mike’s words of wisdom to all newly weds are two simple words: ‘Yes, Dear.’
Michael was a member of the Winslow Township Police Department serving as a Patrolman, Detective, Field Training Officer and retired after 26 years of service after obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was also a member of the FOP Lodge #9 and was a Lifetime Member of the Cedar Brook Vol. Fire Company where he participated in working Bingo nights, worked around the firehouse and helped prepare the fire apparatus.
Mike enjoyed deer hunting at his seasonal farm house in Pennsylvania where he also enjoyed entertaining his children and grandchildren in the country setting of no cell phones or WIFI.
Mike also enjoyed eating a good breakfast after every Sunday Mass as well as assisting his wife "decorating" Sacred Heart Church, especially during the holidays.
His children and grandchildren were the love of his life and he participated in their lives by attending their games, recitals and plays. He never turned down an opportunity to take a quick trip to Cape May. NJ to watch a sunset with his soulmate.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 9:00am to 10:45am at the Christ The Redeemer Parish/Assumption Church. 316 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rt. 73. Cedar Brook, NJ.
