Margaret Dolores Devine-Ragonese

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Dolores Devine-Ragonese, a beloved sister, sister in-law, great-grandmother, step-mother, aunt, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 88. Peggy made her home in Atco, New Jersey, where she touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Born on February 1, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, Peggy grew up in a loving environment anchored by her family values. A proud graduate of high school, she found her place in the workforce as a dedicated clerk at Wells Fargo Bank, where her commitment and diligence endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. Her quiet grace and warm smile were constants in the community, reminding all of us of the beauty in everyday kindness.

A lover of all creatures, Peggy nurtured countless animals throughout her life, each experiencing her affectionate care. Her weekends were often filled with excitement as she indulged in her love for bingo and time spent at the casino, where the thrill of the games brought her immense joy. She cherished the time spent on the water, whether it was crabbing, deep sea fishing, or boating with loved ones. Her camper down the shore was not just a place of refuge but a home where memories were made and joy was shared among family and friends.

Peggy leaves behind her cherished sisters, Patricia Carney (Ed) and Kathleen Rawlings, great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Pugliese, stepsons, Michael Ragonese, Robert Ragonese, David Ragonese (Sandra) and Carlos Ragonese (Tika), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Ragonese, first husband, James Devine, daughter, Marianne Gibbons, granddaughter, Katie Pugliese, parents, Benjamin and Helen Birkenstock as well as her brother in-law George Rawlings.

Family and friends are invited to Peggy's visitation on Monday, July 20th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am held at Christ the Redeemer Parish/Assumption Church, 315 Carl Hasselhan Dr, Atco, NJ 08004 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am.
