Malisa Cooney

Malisa Sue Cooney, age 47, of Bellmawr, NJ, passed away on July 17, 2025. She was born in Camden, NJ to the late George A. Hagerty, Jr. and Susan D. Hagerty (née Dill).

Malisa had a passion for cooking, cherished days at the beach, and loved spending time with her family. She worked as a stenographer and in her younger years, she was a proud member of a roller derby team and was known for her incredibly fast typing skills. Though she was tough, Malisa never took life too seriously. She will be remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and the deep devotion she showed to those she loved.

She is predeceased by her parents, George and Susan. Malisa is survived by her beloved sons, Jarrod Cooney (John Neger) and Derron Cooney (Sage Barker); her life partner, James Trout, Sr.; her dear brother, George Hagerty; and her cherished dog, Lilly.

Malisa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory and will be held privately.
