Emblem

Macy Palmer Wright, Jr. father to Macy (Nancy), Margaret Ann (Pat), and Ann Nicole (Jim). Grandfather to Bobby, Samantha (Albert), Devon, Kirsten (Mike), Courtney (Travis), Patrick, and Thomas. Great Grandfather to Lainey, Skylar, and Quinn. Brother to Janet. Companion to Deb. Predeceased by his parents, Macy and Margaret, his wife Margaret Ann, his son, Kevin, and his siblings, Barry, Robert, Ronald, and Margaret.

Macy passed away on July 18, 2026 in Manahawkin. A lifelong South Jerseyan, his life was nonetheless a winding and far-reaching journey. From his diverse career path - beginning with his youthful service in the Air Force, transitioning to a truck driver (CB handle "Slow Mo"), and realizing his calling as a mental health counselor who aided children, attended to first responders at ground zero on 9/11, and so many more in the course of over 30 years of practice. He took a similarly unique religious path as a lifelong student of spirituality, from Catholicism and even seminary, to finding peace in Buddhism. With his wife Margaret Ann (nee Mataya, 11/11/2017), he had four children - Mac, Margaret, Ann, and Kevin - and consequently never a dull moment.

After many years in Penbryn, Margaret and Macy moved to Brigantine and enjoyed their golden decades steps from the ocean, as grandchildren and great grandchildren arrived and joined them in the home that will forever be their utmost happy place. An activist and an advocate, Macy had a compassionate and empathetic heart, one that stubbornly defied medical expectations for years, and we are immensely grateful for the abundance of time we had with him.

Please join us in celebration of his life. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Military Honors and a Eulogy will begin at 7:00 PM at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004.
