Lisa D. Mellet

It is with great sadness that the family of Lisa Danielle Mellet, age 51, of Camden, New Jersey announces Lisa's passing on March 26, 2026. Born on June 28,1974 in Camden, New Jersey, a smart, kind, vivacious young woman graduated from Camden Catholic High school and received her bachelor's degree from Rutgers University with honors in Social Work. Everyone who knew Lisa loved her. Despite her struggles with addiction, she managed to make others smile, laugh and cry. If you asked her how she was, she would always say "I'm good". Her life was not easy, but she lived, never complaining, always walking.

We are heartbroken that her life was violently taken on the very street she walked daily and where the community embraced her with care and kindness when she needed it. We are forever grateful to those who showed our Lisa compassion and love. 

A special thanks to Sister Helen Cole at Guadalupe Family Services who has helped murder victims and their families for more than 30 years. We know that Lisa is now free from pain and suffering and in Gods loving arms.

Lisa is preceded in death by her mother, May Mellet, her father, George L. Shade, and her brother, Stephen Winter. Lisa is survived by 2 sons, and her daughter, Justina Goudy, brother, Frank Winter and family, sister, Nadine Engel and family and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be held privately. Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, 11:00 am at Assumption Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Drive, Atco, New Jersey 08004. Inurnment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin, NJ, where Lisa will be laid to rest with her mother and brother.
