In Loving Memory of Karen Louise Hampton-Wilgus

With profound sadness and endless love, our family announces the passing of Karen Louise Hampton-Wilgus, of Williamstown, NJ, at the age of 79, who peacefully left this world on August 1, 2026, at 10:48 a.m.

Karen was so much more than a mother and grandmother. She was the heart of her family a woman whose strength, wisdom, humor, kindness, and unconditional love left an imprint on the lives of those closest to her.

Above everything else, Karen loved her family.

She shared an irreplaceable bond with her children. Her daughter, Kristine, held a special place in her heart that only a mother and daughter could truly understand. Through every chapter of life, that love remained. Her son, Steven, was deeply loved as well, and the bond they shared as mother and son was one that belonged uniquely to them. Her children were part of her heart, her story, and the family she built.

That love continued into the generations that followed.

Her granddaughter, Kayliegh, shared an especially close relationship with her Grandmom and will forever carry the strength, wisdom, comfort, memories, and love her grandmother gave her. Karen's grandchild and great-grandchildren are part of the legacy she leaves behind, and through them, pieces of her will continue for generations.

Karen found happiness in the things that made life and home beautiful. She loved gardening and flowers, sewing, upholstery, remodeling, cooking, writing short stories, shopping, animals, music, and simply having her family together. She especially enjoyed The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, and John Lennon.

She had a way of making a house feel like home.

Although her family would give anything for one more conversation, one more laugh, one more story, or simply one more ordinary day with her, the love Karen gave during her lifetime did not leave when she did.

It remains in Kristine and Steven

It remains in her grandchild and great-grandchildren.

It remains in the home she loved the traditions she created, the stories her family will continue telling, and all those little moments that will forever make someone stop and think, "Grandmom would have loved this."

Her family will continue to honor her by staying connected, loving one another, keeping her memory alive, and carrying forward the pieces of Karen that she left within each of them.

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of Karen.

Thank You for her kind heart, her strength, her gentle spirit, and the love she so freely gave.

Keep her in Your loving care and surround her with eternal peace.

Let her know that her children, grandchild, great-grandchildren, family, and everyone who loved her will carry her with them always.

Death may have changed the way we hold her, but it could never change the love that connects us to her.

Until we meet again, Karen, Mom, Grandmom, and the heart of our family, you will never be forgotten.
