It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Paul Willis, Jr, at the age 80, a resident of Newtonville, NJ who passed away on Monday, July 6th, 2026.
Joseph was the son of Joseph Paul Willis Sr. from High Point, South Carolina, and Louise Brown of High Point North Carolina. He graduated from Edison High School in 1963, then joined the navy immediately thereafter and served our country for several years. Joseph continued his employment with the Government through the Department of Interior National Park Service. He met the love of his life Juanita Jackson and was married for over 45 years.
Joseph leaves behind his college sweetheart and wife, Juanita, two daughters, Adia and Monica, younger brother, Tyrees, his sister-in-law, Sharon and their two sons, Tyler and Shawn, 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Joy, Justin, and Jada and his two great-grandchildren, Soroya Love and Cardell Jr. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lousie.
Joseph was excited about seeing Jesus one day and knew a little bit about every subject and would tell you his view and listen to yours. He was a great conversationalist and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. No birthday was ever forgotten or missed and his partner in life, his better half will miss him as only a wife of almost fifty years can. They were inseparable, you saw him you saw her... True love in every sense of the word. The consolation is that we know he was ushered into God's presence and God was smiling waiting and probably knew hearing all the questions I'm sure he had to ask.
Family and friends are invited to attend Joseph's service on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am held at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, 08004. Please be advised that there will be no viewing or visitation before the service. Family and friends are respectfully requested to arrive prior to 10:00 am, as the funeral service will begin promptly at 10:00 am. Interment with military honors to follow at Richard E. Squires Veterans Cemetery in Mays Landing, NJ. Condolences may be shared on Joseph's online guest book.
