With a twinkle in his eye and a smile that lit up the room, Joseph D'Amico was not just ordinary; he was extraordinary. He saw the best in everyone and had a way of making others feel special. Family was everything to him, especially his grandchildren. He was the epitome of a genuinely kind man, a "Dad's Dad" and true gentleman.
Joe led a successful career as a butcher at Edlen Meats for almost 50 years. His customers became his friends, and he considered his coworkers family. If you were fortunate enough to taste his marinated French Broil, good luck finding a cut of meat as delicious.
He leaves behind many loved ones, including Cheryl D'Amico, his brother Peter DiAmico, his children: David D'Amico (Heather), Thomas McFlynn, and Cheryl Mogar (Brian); grandchildren: Jennifer Lisi Womack (Johnathan), Tyler Mogar (Lila), Kyle Blessing (Jamie), Gianna & David D'Amico; and great-grandchildren: Adriana, Harper & Dominic Womack and Braxton Blessing. Joseph is reunited in Heaven with his beloved daughter, Michelle Lisi, and his brother Larry DiAmico.
Joe was truly one in a million. He was a man of integrity, patience, and discipline who loved life and had a great sense of humor. He led a valiant fight with kidney and bladder cancer. Through it all, he never complained or felt sorry for himself. His closest loved ones surrounded him as he passed. Even in his final days, he was happy, smiling, joking, and laughing.
He leaves behind many lessons to carry on his legacy: work hard, be kind, plan for the future but live in the moment, take responsibility for your actions, and never take things for granted. His family will miss him beyond words, especially at holiday meals, where you could find him in the kitchen, and in the little moments filled with his presence.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Burial with Military honors will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton, NJ
As a proud Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and the father of a law enforcement officer, Joseph had immense pride in his country.
