John "Jack" Scharff, 82, of Winslow, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025.
Born on August 10, 1942, Jack was the beloved son of the late Olympia and John Scharff. He graduated from Bishop Eustace High School in 1960 and went on to earn his degree from St. Joseph's University. Jack enjoyed a successful 40-year career in marketing and advertising and, in retirement, found joy in writing for various newspapers and magazines.
Known for his sharp sense of humor, Jack had a magnetic personality that lit up every room. He had a passion for golf and music, a lifelong love of the Phillies, and a remarkable talent for horse racing analysis. He spent countless hours studying the sport and treasured days at the track with family and friends.
In 1962, Jack married the love of his life, Joyce. Together, they built a large family rooted in love, laughter, and even a bit of friendly competition. Nothing made Jack happier than a house full of loved ones, especially when surrounded by his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Pop-Pop."
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Mary "Joyce" Scharff; his five children: Stephanie Dillon (Patrick), Jacqueline Pinto (Michael), John Scharff (Andrea), Kimberly Brodbeck (Sonny), and Christina Kalani (Paul); and his nine cherished grandchildren: Nicole Veliz (David), Madison Pisano (Matthew), Sean Dillon, Ryan Dillon, Jake Brodbeck, Danielle Pinto, Casey Scharff, Cayla Kalani, and Paul Kalani.
Jack's legacy of love, laughter, and storytelling lives on in all who knew him.
