John Joseph McBride

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John J. "Jack" McBride, of Atco, NJ on May 27, 2026.

The son of the late Joseph & Nellie McBride, he was born on April 11, 1931, in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, residing on Aramingo Ave. for the majority of his youth.

A graduate of North Catholic High School, Jack served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War.

He served the City of Philadelphia as a Fireman for 23 years receiving awards and acknowledgements.

After retiring from the City of Philadelphia, Jack held the position of Facilities Director for Trump Plaza and Showboat Casinos in Atlantic City.

Jack's legacy of humor, perseverance and a strong work ethic will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jack loved bowling, fishing, crabbing and following all Philadelphia Sports Teams.

He is survived by his children; Deborah Rishell, Kathleen Doyle, John McBride, Jr. and Joseph McBride. His grandchildren; Laura and Matthew Rishell, Jack McBride, Matthew Rishell, Caitlin McBride and Blair McBride. Jack is predeceased by his wife, Antoinette McBride.

Jack McBride will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends are invited to attend his service on Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:00 am at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, 08004 with interment and military honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin, NJ to follow.
