John Joseph Cooper Jr.

Jan 15, 1948 — Aug 25, 2026

John J. Cooper, Jr., 78, of Sewell, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2026, with his loving family at his side.

John was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished family member, and dear friend. He was a man who found great joy in the people he loved and in the moments he shared with them.

For more than 54 years, John was married to the love of his life, Barbara. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, companionship, and countless memories. John and Barbara enjoyed many adventures together, including hosting many family gatherings, where they shared good times and made memories that would last a lifetime. Barbara passed away in 2024, and John carried her love and memory with him always.

John had a passion for golf and enjoyed every opportunity to get out on the course. But some of his happiest moments were spent much closer to home, surrounded by his family. His pool became a special gathering place where family and friends came together, and John treasured those days of laughter, conversation, and togetherness.

Above all else, John loved his family. Their happiness was his happiness, and he was grateful for all the love, laughter, and joy they brought into his life. He cherished the time spent together and created a lifetime of memories that will remain in their hearts forever. John will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to Barbara, his enjoyment of golf and casino trips, and most of all, for the love and joy he gave so freely to those around him.

John is survived by his loving daughter, Amy McMahon (Mike) and son, John (Lisa); his grandchildren, Jack, Michael, Bill, Jim, and Bart (Olivia) McMahon, Johnny, Kaitlyn, and Sean Cooper, Olivia Dexter (Zach), Ava Johnson (Scott) and their families; He also leaves behind his devoted niece, Meghan Frazier (Ross); nephews, Shaun Kane (Evelyne), Buzz (Cheryl), Chris (Colette), and Matt Bachich (Kristen); his beloved grand nieces and nephews Brittany, Hailey, Cole, Joey, Nick, Peyton, Christopher and Nate Bachich, Nora Jayne, Ford and Annie Sue Frazier, Lila Lynn and Dean Kane; his lifelong friend Sharon Fitzpatrick and all of his family and dear friends. All will miss him beyond words.
