Jayna Maria Morgan, age 33, of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formerly of Atco, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025.
Jayna was born on January 27th, 1992, to Kristin A. Morgan, in Stratford, New Jersey. Always inquisitive, she was a fast learner, began reading at the age of three, and excelled academically. She mostly maintained honor roll and principal's list status for her entire time in school, becoming a member of The Junior National Honor Society, then The National Honor Society for academics, as well as foreign language.
During her high school years at Sterling High School, class of 2010, she would get up very early in the morning to help foreign exchange students learn English as a second language. She received several scholarships and was accepted at The University of Miami. Ultimately, she decided to stay close to home and attend college at Rutgers University, studying primary education to become a teacher. However, she did not complete her degree. She enrolled in various college level classes in the following years.
Jayna had many good childhood friends and spent many school days, birthday parties, class trips, school plays, movie days, trick or treating, roller skating, graduations, bonding and making memories, that will eternally be a huge part of her heart.
As a creative, Jayna loved to draw, paint, write poetry, dance, and sing, learning how to play the violin and make jewelry in later years. She attended dance class all through her childhood and into her teen years, taking classical ballet, jazz, and Tahitian. Participating in the Brownies and Girl Scouts troops, she earned many badges, loved selling Girl Scout cookies, and going on trips. During her summers, she enjoyed many years of being a member of Main stage Center for the Arts, as well as going on trips to Puerto Rico with one of her best friends.
She started working part time as a waitress as a teen, continuing to work in the hospitality industry for most of her adult life. First working at Adelphia, then TopDog, becoming a banquet captain at Paris Catering, then a bartender/mixologist at Pasta Vino, then Luce. Working with the public and being with people always brought her great joy. Always proud to do a great job wherever she worked, Jayna was well liked by her employers, coworkers, and clients, always going the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. Most recently, she had managed her own online business and was looking into returning to school for business management.
Jayna loved listening to and playing music, going to concerts, traveling, gardening, getting tattoos, and cooking. She loved all animals, especially cats, huskies, butterflies, narwhals and hammerhead sharks. She really loved spending time with her family and friends. Her kindness, compassion, generosity, infectious laughter, sense of humor, and bright light will be deeply missed by all who love her. She was deeply spiritual, into astrology, metaphysics, tarot cards, collecting crystals, and was a huge fan of Sublime, Pink Floyd, Falling in Reverse, Pokemon, and Harry Potter.
Jayna is survived by her mother, Kristin (Chris); her daughter, Amelia; her fur babies, Nero & Luna; bonus grandparents, Michael & Joann; bonus siblings, Christopher, Sarah, Kaylee, and Dakota; her soul sister, Samantha; half-brothers Michael, and Anthony; Aunts Danielle, Cat, Barb (Warren), Val, Valerie (Mark); Uncle Eric; family friend David; Godparents, Anthony & Andrea; Aunts, Uncles, many cousins, close friends, former coworkers, and teachers.
