James R. "Jym" Dunn

James R. Dunn, Jr. "Jym", age 70, of West Berlin, NJ, passed away on December 17, 2025. He was born in Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC, to the late James R. Dunn, Sr. and Margaret L. Dunn (née Detrick).

Jym proudly dedicated over 40 years of service as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. In his younger years, he enjoyed clubbing, skiing, billiards and bowling, a love for bowling that stayed with him throughout his life as he continued to watch it on television. He was also an avid fan of tennis, especially the Grand Slam tournaments, and never missed watching the Olympics. Jym enjoyed spending time with family and friends for everything from special events, game nights or just dinner at the local diner. He did some traveling with a trip to London being a highlight. He kept himself engaged and entertained on his computer and phone.

Throughout his life, Jym would do anything for anyone. He was selfless, dependable, and always made sure he was there for his family, friends, postal customers or even a stranger he heard was in need, offering quiet strength and unwavering support.

Jym was predeceased by his beloved husband, Michael Meehan, and his parents, James R. Dunn, Sr. and Margaret L. Dunn.

He is survived by his siblings, Gary Dunn (Donna), Donna Cline (John), David Dunn (Ruth), and Sandra Corey (the late Dale); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Kyle Dunn, Alicia Dunn, Kristina Schmidlin (Derek), Sara Mendoza (Justin), Amanda Hobbs (George), and Brandon Dunn.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory and will be held privately at this time. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
