Harold C. Connolly, Sr.

The Connolly family is mourning the loss of Harold C. Connolly, Sr., age 82, of Waterford Works, NJ, who passed away on October 2, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Nedra Connolly (née Weidmann).

Harold was a gifted tradesman, working as an elevator mechanic from his teenage years through retirement for Penn City Elevator Company in Philadelphia. He obtained a boiler operator license after retirement so he could work at Camden County Vocational HS and could fix just about anything that was broken around the house. "Hal" loved the great outdoors, reading about the great explorers throughout history, so many of his hobbies reflected this love. He loved camping, hunting, bird watching, fishing (a lifetime member of the NRA), and was quite proud of being a licensed HAM radio operator, enabling him to talk to people throughout the world (long before there was the internet). Harold also enjoyed listening to and playing music, so when two of his sons started playing the saxophone and joined the Palmyra String Band in Berlin, NJ, he picked up the banjo so he could share in many fun experiences together with his children. Harold was extremely proud of his childrens' professional accomplishments in science, business, and finance. Spending time with his family on camping and vacation trips, visiting Cape May, attending seniors events at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, watching Philadelphia Eagles games, and many years in string band brought him great joy in life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nedra, and his brother, Joseph Connolly.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Janice Connolly (née Guzejko); his children, Harold C. Connolly, Jr., Melissa Konidaris, Ronald Connolly (Irene), and Jonathan Connolly (Melissa); his cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel Connolly, Ashlyn Connolly, and Avery Connolly; and his siblings, Nedra Nilen and Kyle Marie Raymond.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A family eulogy and sharing of memories will begin at 8:30 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ the Redeemer Parish/Assumption Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ 08004. Interment will follow at Atco Cemetery.
