Gregory Tyrone Nichols, 71, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.
Gregory was born on December 27, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was raised in Woodbury, New Jersey. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Gregory worked as an abatement worker and was a member of Local 78, where he spent many years dedicated to his trade.
Gregory was a strong-willed and outspoken man who never hid how he felt. He was loud, unapologetic, and wore his emotions on his sleeve. While he could be headstrong and opinionated, it always came from a place of love. Family meant more to Gregory than anything else in the world. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived life fully. Those who knew him understood that he could be a little crazy at times, but always in the best way, bringing energy, honesty, and heart wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Nichols, who passed away in September 2021, as well as his parents, Troy Pinesatt Nichols and Queen Esther Nichols.
Gregory is survived by his three children: Gregory Nichols Jr., Troy Nichols and his wife, Kimberly Nichols, and Vanessa Nichols and her partner, Ariana Nichols. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Khai Nichols, Ivy Nichols, Nora Nichols, and Xavier Nichols. He is also survived by his older brother, Troy Nichols, and his younger sister, Vivian Nichols, along with several nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. Gregory was also a father figure to many people throughout his life whom he treated as his own.
Gregory was cremated, and a memorial service will be held in his honor at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004, on March 18, 2026. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the memorial ceremony beginning at 12:00 PM.
Gregory will be remembered for his strength, his unmistakable personality, and most of all, for the love he had for his family and the many lives he touched.
Gregory lived life loudly, honestly, and with heart, and the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring both laughter and love to those who knew him.
