It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glen M. Thorsen, who passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on August 16, 1954, in Teaneck, New Jersey to Henry S. and Eileen M. (nee Maher) Thorsen. Glen's legacy is etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Glen graduated from Xavier High School before pursuing further education at Fordham University, where he earned his Master's Degree. His commitment to public service and emergency management was evident throughout his impressive career. As the Director of Emergency Management for Winslow Township, he exemplified leadership, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility to the communities he served. Glen also made his mark as a volunteer firefighter in Fairfield, NJ, where he cultivated a spirit of camaraderie and selflessness. Furthermore, he proudly held the title of past president of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs Association, reflecting his unwavering commitment to improving public safety.
Glen is survived by his companion of 20 years, Angie K. Marmarou, his son, Shaun, three granddaughters, and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and two daughters, Christine and April.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ.
