Fred Francis Gorman, 94, of Voorhees, NJ, formerly of Audubon, Sicklerville, and Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026. Fred was born at home on March 26, 1932, in the Cross Keys section of Washington Township, NJ, and raised in the Fairview Section of Camden, where he attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School before graduating from (the real) Camden Catholic High School in 1950. While at Camden Catholic, Fred showcased his talent as the lead in the school play, Lady Be Good.

Fred proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy from June 27, 1950 (enlisting immediately after graduating from high school), until April 26, 1954, achieving the rank of Aviation Electronics Technician 2nd Class (AT2). Following his active-duty military service, he spent over 30 years in the Naval Air Reserve and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, a prestigious rank to achieve as an enlisted man. Fred's experiences and adventures while proudly serving his country, and the lifelong friendships he cultivated, were some of the highlights of his life. He achieved many honors during his Naval service, yet he lived his life humbly. Concurrently, he enjoyed a distinguished career in the telecommunications industry, starting as a lineman for New Jersey Bell, and retiring as an account manager with AT&T, after over 35 years of service.

On November 8, 1958, Fred married Helen M. (nee Harrington) Gorman at St. Rose of Lima Church in Haddon Heights, NJ, beginning a partnership that would endure for over six and a half decades. 

Fred was a man of many passions. He was an exceptional athlete who enjoyed playing baseball, golfing, and bowling. He was a talented drummer in a band, an avid fisherman, and he held a private pilot's license. Fred had an extraordinary ability to dismantle and repair electronics. His keen intellect and ability to have a good time, made him a beloved figure among family and friends.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Clara (nee Danner) Gorman; infant twin daughters, Mary and Ann Gorman; son, Patrick Gorman; sister, Dolores Bowe; and sister-in-law, MaryAnne Gorman.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M. (nee Harrington) Gorman; children, Alice Convey (Michael), Michael Gorman (Ann), Kathleen Citera (Frank DiGiacomo), and Matthew Gorman (Ginger); brother, James Gorman; brother-in-law, Thomas Bowe; ten grandchildren, Helen Rodenheiser (Kenny), Jessica Rodio-Segal (Adam), Anthony Rodio (Nicole), Jenna Rosen (Joshua), Sean Gorman, Ivana Citera (John Brady), Gaetano Citera (fiancée Megan Doyle), Marco Citera, Samantha Gorman and Olivia Gorman; 5 great-grandchildren and two great grandsons on the way; Elliot, Kennedy, and Bryce Rodenheiser, Robert, Walter and Baby Boy Segal and Baby Boy Rodio and many devoted nieces, nephews, and family friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Parish, St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 3107 Alabama Road, Camden, NJ 08104. Arrangements are under the care of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers donations in Fred's memory may be made to the Children with Diabetes Foundation, or to Samaritan Hospice.
