Francis X. Tighe at the proud age of 100 of West Berlin, NJ passed away on November 5, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Onori). Father of Mary DeSorte (Donald Sr.) and Theresa Schafer (Joseph).

Grandfather of Donald DeSorte, Jr., Kerrie Henshaw (Jonathan), Francis DeSorte (Alyssa), Michael DeSorte, Mary Kate Schaeffer (Gordon), Brenna Vitarelli (Sam), Angeles Lazo (Adan), Domenica DeSorte, Rocco DeSorte, Margaret Cruz (Ashante), Joseph Schafer, Kevin Schafer (Karla) and Molly Osorio (Carlos)

Great Grandfather of Anna Henshaw, Xavier Henshaw, Gordon Schaeffer, IV., Gemma Schaeffer, Gia Schaeffer, Santino Vitarelli, Saverio Vitarelli, Angelo Vitarelli, Declan DeSorte, Alaina Schafer, Joseph Schafer, Julian Cruz, Elisa Cruz, Kyle Schafer, Diana Schafer and Roman Osorio.

Francis was born in West Berlin, NJ on January 23, 1925. He worked at the Philadelphia Shipyard, Owens Corning Fiberglass Company and the US Postal Service at the 30th. Street Post Office in Philadelphia, PA, Haddonfield, NJ and retiring from the Cherry Hill Post Office.

He was proud to serve his Nation in the US Army during World War II serving under General Patton during the Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe Campaigns and the Battle of the Bulge. He was one of the founding members of the Berlin VFW Post and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, (DAV).

Francis was devoted to his Catholic Faith and was a very active member of St. Simon Stock Parish/Our Ladt of Mt. Carmel Church and in his spare time, he enjoyed taking a ride to the casinos.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:15am at St. Simon Stock Parish/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ, 08009. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Interment and Military Honors will be held at the Atco Cemetery, Atco, NJ.
