It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ennio Sbraccia, of Hammonton, NJ, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on April 1, 1933, in Teramo, Italy, Ennio immigrated to the United States and made Hammonton his home, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and a passion that would become his lifelong calling.
After arriving in the United States, Ennio began working at Kessler Clothing Company in Hammonton. His love of cooking eventually led him to learn the art of making pizza. In 1971, he opened his first pizzeria, Joanne's Pizza, in Egg Harbor City. Two years later, in 1973, he opened Pizza House in Sicklerville, the first pizzeria in the community.
Making pizza became much more than a profession for Ennio-it was a craft he took tremendous pride in and one he continued throughout his life. For more than five decades, he shared his talents with generations of customers, family, and friends. His remarkable work ethic never faded. Even at 93 years old, Ennio could still be found at Corrado's Pizza & Wings making the pizza dough, doing what he knew and loved best.
Ennio was a sweet and charming man who treated everyone with kindness and respect. His warm personality allowed him to form countless friendships over the years, and he was genuinely adored by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
When he wasn't working, Ennio enjoyed playing poker, whether at the casinos or online. He also enjoyed relaxing at home watching Gunsmoke and classic Western movies. A sports fan, Ennio especially enjoyed watching soccer and football and cheering on his favorite teams.
Above all, Ennio loved his family. He is survived by his three loving children, Melinda (Brian) Sbraccia, Bruno Sbraccia, Corrado (Anastasia) Sbraccia; his five grandchildren, Niklas (Kara), Cameron (Shannon), Sage, Sonny (Gianna), Matt (Rhys); and his three great grandchildren, Levi, Luna and Vivienne who will carry with them the many memories, traditions, and lessons he shared throughout his long and remarkable life.
Ennio was predeceased by his wife, Giovanna Sbraccia; his parents, Iafet and Maria Sbraccia, and his siblings.
Funeral services will be private.
