It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dolores Holt Batts, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend and devoted healthcare worker who passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, in the loving hands of her baby girl and her loving and supportive son, at the wise age of 85.
Dolores was born on August 1, 1939, in Philadelphia PA. She was the fourth child of the late Junious and Eva (Colter) Holt. The family moved from Philadelphia PA to West Atco, New Jersey in 1943. Dolores spent her later years in Chesilhurst, New Jersey. She touched the lives of many as a compassionate hospice care provider at Holy Redeemer, where her dedication to caring for others shone brightly.
Dolores had three children, and was predeceased by her oldest son, John Batts Jr. Survived by her son, Calvin Batts (Sandra), and daughter, Tina Irving (Brian); and four grandchildren, Andrew Batts, Justin Batts, Trévon Hall and Keyon Wesley. Dolores is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Wright, Ronald Holt, Jean Haliburton, Eleanor Clark (Dave) and a like daughter, Stacy Smith, and a host of loving nieces and nephews, and Dolores' heart felt sister friend Marie Covington.
Dolores is predeceased by her siblings, Jack, Norman, Joyce Holt Chappell, and Donald Holt. She was also predeceased by a longtime close friend Steven Wilson.
Dolores attended the Winslow Township schools and Overbrook regional high school. She found her passion in home healthcare working for 38 years, with ten of those years spent working with the critically ill. Dolores received many recognitions for her dedicated service.
Dear Mom, forever strong...strong to the very end. I will forever feel the softness of your face in my hands as you peacefully transitioned to be with our Heavenly Father. We thank you for all you have done for us. We thank God that you are finally at peace, rest well in Heaven.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Dolores Holt Batts, her viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, New Jersey, 08004. Dolores will be laid to rest at First Baptist Church of Florence Estates Cemetery, 224 New Brooklyn Rd., Berlin, New Jersey, 08009.
