Debbie Ann Basquez (nee Piper), age 73, of West Berlin, NJ passed early morning on Sunday, February 8th, 2026. Beloved wife of late Alan M. Basquez. Devoted mother of Kimberly (Rich) Wegrzyniak, Nicholas (Amanda) Basquez, David Basquez, Andrew (Barb) Basquez, and Brittney (Dalton Sr.) Basquez-Clark. Adored grandmother, to Aidan, Aubree, Brooklyn (her mother Alexis), Lana, Rowan, David Jr., Jaxson, Alan, Dalton Jr, and Eliana. Cherished sister to Susan (Jeff), Danny (Rose), Elmer, Frank (Shakee), Patricia (Bobby), Michael (Mary), and Jennifer. Treasured Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Debra was born and raised in Chicago Illinois, on November 24th, 1952, to parents (late) Elmer Piper, and Alice Piper (nee Jacobs). Debbie was the oldest of 8. In school Debra participated in Hall-guard and was part of G.A.A. (Girls Athletic Association) where she later graduated from Steinmetz Class of 1970, in Chicago Illinois. Growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her family and helping her mom take care of her younger siblings. She enjoyed going out with her best friend, Kathy, her sister, and a few other close girlfriends from the neighborhood, whether it was going out to see a play or movie, or to dinner.
She loved to be social. In her younger years Debbie loved to travel, she enjoyed visiting Italy, Spain, and Hawaii, hoping one day she would make it back one last time! Debbie married her best friend, and husband, Alan in October of 1980. They then later moved to New Jersey with their 3 children, where they grew their family of 5 to a family of 7. Debbie worked most of her life. She worked for companies like Allstate, Popular Mortgage, and Guaranteed Rate for many years. She enjoyed shoe shopping, solitaire, reading, and watching her favorite movies and TV shows. Debbie loved spending much of her free time with her family. Her husband, kids and grandchildren were the light of her life. Family meant everything to her. If you knew Debbie, you knew she loved greatly.
Debbie was known for her kindness, independence, selflessness, dependability, and huge heart. She was an all-around beautiful person. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, 08004.
