Billie Susan Sabin

Jun 25, 1956 — Oct 30, 2026

Billie Susan Sabin (née Bradley), 70, of Pine Hill, NJ, passed away on October 30, 2026. Born in Monticello, KY, Billie was the daughter of the late William G. And Marlene (Shay) Bradley.

Although her family moved around quite a bit when she was a child, Billie decided that South Jersey was where she wanted to settle.

When people think of Billie, they think of 3 things: food, artistic creativity, and music.

Billie was a fabulous cook and feeding people was her love language. She had an open-door policy at her house and fed most anyone who came through, but she truly enjoyed feeding her own family and most of the neighborhood kids.

She was very artistic and imaginative (just ask anyone who received a dried apple head) and she loved to make Halloween costumes for her kids from random items she had around the house.

For many, a favorite song will always bring Billie to mind. Motown, The Commitments, the theme from Rawhide, the list goes on. She loved going out to hear bands and dancing with her friends.

She also loved to laugh and love a good joke (two nuns were sitting on a bench...). And there were movies that she would quote constantly: Rocky Horror Picture Show, Auntie Mame, Young Frankenstein, again, the list goes on.

Kentucky remained a big part of her life. She spent every summer there as a child and returned often as an adult. However, no trip was complete without getting bourbon balls from Ruth Hunt Candies.

Billie is survived by her longtime partner, Chas Nickel, her children Dana Renee Sabin of Pine Hill and James Nickel (Tara) of Berlin and her grandchildren Matthew, Jayden, Wade and Sara who affectionately called her Mimi. She is also survived by siblings Lisa Urcinoli (Mark) of Williamstown, NJ, William Bradley of Port Charlotte, FL, and Elizabeth (Gig) Bradley of Newark, DE. Billie was preceded in death by her son Robert Nickel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hope Chapel (Hope for the Hungry).

Billie and her son, Robert, will be taken home to Monticello next autumn, her favorite time of the year, to be laid to rest.
