Anthony D.
Leone
May 5, 1939 – May 17, 2026
Anthony David Leone Jr., a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 5, 1939, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anthony and Frances Leone (Pignotti). Anthony lived a full and accomplished life as a fearless entrepreneur, pursuing many ventures over the years. He managed an equine center, owned a restaurant, worked as a skilled auto mechanic and body repairman, and proudly served the Waterford Township community as a police officer for 15 years. During his service, he handled the township's first K-9 unit, a role that reflected his dedication and pioneering spirit.
Anthony found great joy in working with horses and cherished his time spent fishing and boating. He was a man of quiet strength and quick wit, whose presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him. Nothing made him happier than a home filled with the voices of his children and grandchildren. His wisdom, storytelling, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Marguerite Leonora Leone (Purden); his children, Anthony David Leone III, James Francis Rowan, Marguerite Elizabeth ("Beth") Rowan Banik, Angela Leone Lustig, and Frances Leone; as well as his nine cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
