Anthony Compolongo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Compolongo, of Sicklerville, formerly of Heritage Point in Barnegat, NJ, who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 17, 1941, in Staten Island, NY, to Ettore and Theresa (nee Conti) Compolongo. 

A proud Marine, Anthony honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked at General Motors in Edison for 25 years then moved on to become a dedicated tractor trailer driver for UPS.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Cecelia who predeceased him, loving father and grandfather who delighted in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Anthony was an exceptional listener and a caring neighbor. He spent many joyful hours at the Ocean Acres Country Club in Manahawkin, where he cherished playing golf under the sun. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, was an avid fan of the New York Rangers, enjoyed watching birds, and will be remembered for his legendary Super Bowl parties, ensuring that family and friends felt welcome and included.

Anthony is survived by his daughters, Lisa Medvitz and her husband Mark; Linda Jamison her husband David and Kathleen A. Nelms; his brother, Eddie Compolongo; his grandchildren, Olivia, Zachary, Matthew, Mark, Melissa, John, Angela and Amanda and his seven great-grandchildren. 

He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cremation was held at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004.

A visitation will be held in Barnegat, NJ on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm followed by a prayer service and military honors at 12:15 pm the Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005.
