Richard "Richie" P. Wuestenberg

March 29, 1956 — November 22, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard P. Wuestenberg, 68,of Atco, New Jersey. Richie, as he was affectionately known, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on November 22, 2024, after a courageous battle

with a brief illness.

Growing up four blocks from Yankee’s Stadium in the Bronx, Richie was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. Richie’s love for a ball game was only matched by his passion for music. He toured the world with various bands, leaving behind a legacy of

experiences and memories that will forever be cherished. His devotion to his family and friends, however, remained his greatest source of pride.

Richie found joy in the simple pleasures. A proud softball coach for over 15 years, with his daughter Amy by his side, led many teams to championships. Whether it was town ball, travel, or high school, Richie was always there coaching from first base or the bleachers. His everyday ritual began with a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and being the undisputed master of the remote control at his home on his couch. He always enjoyed a good cheesesteak and pizza with his family. These were the simple moments that his family will cherish forever.

His love for his family knew no bounds. Richie was the beloved life partner of Lauralynn Grim for 52 years, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He was the proud father of their only daughter, Amy Farber (Sam), and granddaughter Remi. His heart swelled with pride at the news of a new granddaughter on the way.

He is predeceased by his parents, Aileen and Bob Wuestenberg. He leaves behind his brothers, Billy Wuestenberg (Lisa), Bobby Wuestenberg, his sister, Sherry Wuestenberg, his sister-in-law, Marilyn Grim, and brothers-in-law Dan (Kim) Grim and Daryl Grim. He was more than an uncle to his “neph-son” John Pulsifer (Samantha) and niece LeighAnn Nieves (Tony). He is loved by his nephews Jeff and Matthew and his niece Tori.

A celebration of Richie’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 5pm-7pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory in Atco, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the animal charity of your choice, in honor of Richie’s love for animals.

Rest in peace, Richie. You will always be remembered, always loved, and forever in

our hearts. “There better be cable up there.”
