John R. Chesebro

John Robert Chesebro died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 2nd at the age of 76.

Beloved husband of Dianne Chesebro (nee Hagen) of 52 years. Loving father of Eric Chesebro (Melissa) and Shawn Chesebro. Devoted grandfather of Elizabeth, Emily and Elaina Chesebro. Dear brother of Russell Chesebro (Mary), Timothy Hagen (Helen), Betsy Matts (Merle), Pamela Seymour (Matt). Wonderful friend to all those who knew him.

John was born on July 12, 1947, in New Berlin, New York. He spent the first half of his life in the small town of Norwich. John and his family moved to southern New Jersey in 1987 where he lived for the remainder of his years. John was an avid fisherman who loved exploring the rivers and lakes of upstate New York, most notably the St. Lawrence River. His best friend Big Bubba was always by his side. John enjoyed nothing more than spending countless hours with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews (boring holes and giving diddly dees). John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and spent many years giving back to veterans through his service as the American Legion Commander (Atco Post 311) and most notably as an American Legion Service officer. John considered everyone he met his friend and was loved dearly by all that knew him.
