Frederick J. "Fritz" Merkh, Jr.

Frederick John “Fritz” Merkh Jr., age 71, of Atco, NJ, passed away on Monday November 2, 2020. Beloved husband of Linda Merkh (nee Priestley). Loving father of Michele (Craig) Wolf and Rebecca (William) Roverano. Proud grandfather of Samantha Virilli, Allison Wolf, Caden Wolf and Gemma Ann Goss; great-grandfather of Michael and Vincent Virilli. Dear brother of Thomas (Angie) Merkh, Joyce (Dan) Carter, and Diane (David) Murphy. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his in-laws David Priestley, Jane and Mike Babli, Douglas and Mary Priestley and Verna Goss. Fritz was born in Camden, NJ and had resided in Atco for the past 30 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy, serving 3 tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a faithful member of the Atco Assembly of God Church and was an active volunteer with the City of Light food pantry. Fritz was also a member of the American Legion Post 311 in Atco. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday November 9, 2020 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Atco Assembly of God, 615 Jackson Rd., Atco, NJ. A memorial service will begin at 7:30 pm. Cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fritz’s name to City of Light Food Pantry, PO Box 202, Atco, NJ 08004.
