Albert Edward Winstel, Sr.

Albert E. Winstel Sr., of Berlin, passed away surrounded by family on April 21, 2024, at the age of 78. Al is survived by his current wife, Evelyn C. (nee Mitchell) as well as children from his first wife, Mary (nee Powell), Cheryl A. Winstel, Mary Lou (Bryan) Sandler, Shannon M. (Nick) Petruzzi-Winstel, Ryan A. (Jennifer) Winstel. Al is predeceased by his second wife, Margaret E. (nee Miller) (d.2008) the mother of Albert E. (Angelina) Winstel Jr., Margaret S. (Bryan) Gibson. Loving grandfather of Joshua Sandler, Lauren Maslinski, Madison Winstel, Alyson Sandler, Ryan Winstel Jr., Connor Gallagher, Kaelyn Winstel, Albert E Winstel III, Ethan Winstel, Zachary Gibson and Emerson Gibson. Loving brother to Donna Sayoc and Lisa Linardo (d. 2020).

Al grew up in Vineland, NJ. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1965. Al enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne Division as a Paramedic. Al later became a Paramedic for West Jersey Hospital volunteering with the Berlin Borough EMS. Al retired from The Division of Motor Vehicle Inspection where he was a supervisor in 2009. Al enjoyed taking care of his yard, loved sitting in his Blue Lagoon and all the licks from his beloved pup, Lucy.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Samaritan Hospice, Colorectal Cancer Alliance, or to a charity of your choosing.
